Andrea Clark
Clinical Psychologist
Who am I?
Hello everyone! I am Andrea, a Clinical Psychologist. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help clients develop their strengths and psychological struggles. I believe that everyone is their own expert and active collaborator in their mental health treatment. In therapy, I guide clients in gaining insight and developing a more healthy and objective view of their struggles. I enjoy working collaboratively with clients to help them through their pains and struggles to provide a safe space for them.
How do I practice?
My primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, where I guide clients in seeing the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in different scenarios. With that, I help clients reframe and make changes to unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours in the hope that they may improve daily functioning. I also incorporate Acceptance-Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy skills to help with emotional regulation and being present in the moment.
I have also been conducting couples therapy for many years and have experience working with couples on various relationship issues such as improving communication, re-establishing trust, managing different dynamics, setting boundaries, talking through transitions in life, etc. I use the Gottman relationship method to assess and plan couple-focused interventions for conflict management and to increase understanding within the relationship.
