Couples & Relationship Therapy in Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur
Couples therapy or marriage counselling occurs in 1-hour long sessions, although it can be arranged to meet for several hours at a time to resolve a pressing issue. Couples come to therapy for a wide range of issues, sometimes an affair or betrayal of trust has occurred and other times couples realise that they are no longer as connected, passionate or satisfied as they used to be. MindWell welcomes LGBTQ+ couples and relationships of non-traditional structures and arrangements. We respect that your relationship is as unique as you are and will never infringe cultural or religious influences on your choices.
We all have dynamics from out past relationships and childhood that have taught us how to interact and communicate in a relationship. Often couples therapy will help put a stop to troublesome cycles, teach individuals how to better communicate and how to manage their own anxieties and psychological difficulties.
You do not have to be in a bad place in your relationship to come to couples therapy. I recommend talking through life transitions such as moving in together, getting married and having children. You may also seek couples therapy because you have decided to separate. In this scenario, the purpose is to set appropriate boundaries and separate in an amicable fashion.
